These primitive candles are beeswax tavern candles, hand-dipped and then hand-rolled in cinnamon for a distressed, rustic look that suits primitive and farmhouse decor. Each one is 4 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide and weighs 2.5 oz. Choose natural, red, pumpkin, or brown. They are sold one at a time, so you can mix colors for a mantel, a windowsill, or a bowl of grubby candles. Because each candle is dipped and rolled by hand, the speckling and wick shape vary, so no two look alike.

My tavern candles start as beeswax. Each one is dipped by hand, then rolled by hand in cinnamon, which leaves the speckled, worn finish people look for in primitive decor. Nicks, bumps, and bent wicks are part of the look.
Pick from four colors: natural, a soft honey tan; red, a deep barn red; pumpkin, a warm orange; and brown, a dark, earthy brown.
At 1.2 inches wide, these are thicker than a standard taper and will not fit most taper candlesticks. Stand them on a small plate or candle pan, or group a few in a wooden bowl or on a tray for a colonial or country farmhouse display.
All orders ship from Tennessee, usually on the same day you purchase. Thank you for supporting a small shop. It means the world to me.
To burn, set your candle on a heat-safe plate, away from drafts and anything that can catch fire. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each light, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Wondering how beeswax compares with soy? Read soy vs beeswax vs paraffin candles.
